I believe regular diapers were designed mainly for males, and baby girls and women often suffer from infections. Their anatomy makes them vulnerable; the vagina and urethra can come into contact with feces, leading to contamination. While washing or using wipes helps, some residue remains. This is concerning because the vagina and urethra are sensitive to germs, with feces being a major source. A new diaper design features a tongue that covers the vagina, absorbs urine, and allows feces to pass through without contact, which could reduce the risk of infections.
